Creating a new style: Your own frame

Provide the graphic or the photo of the frame you like. The sample file of this tutorial you can find here.

Make sure, you remove the area inside the frame with transparency and save the image as 24-bit Png (with transparency).

Create a new image style

Edit the style properties

If required you can set categories and multilingual titels in the second tab.

After clicking "OK" the window for defining the image style will be opened.

Add commands to the image style

Select "Create new picture layer" from the command menu

Select "Merge with target layer" to combine the logo file to the underling picture. The merging settings can be done later.

After that choose "Edit image layer"

Now, a new editing window is opened.

Select "Load picture file" from the command menu

Choose "..." right from the image file name and select you graphic file.

WebImage ask you for copying the image file to your image style resource folder.
Choose "Yes" to continue.

  1. Chose Insert method "Insert this layer sliced"
  2. Set the edges size of your frame
  3. Type in the edges size for the offset column / row
  4. Activate the anchors on all four sides

Explanation

WebImage slices the image into 9 pieces:

The definied edges (green) left untouched, all slices outside (red) where stretched or clinched until they surrounded the photo perfectly. The inner area (white) will also be adjusted, but in your example png this area is transparent. So we can see the photo inside.

Only after activating the anchors, the frame will be perfectly fitted to the picture.

By the help of the offset parameter you can move the frame, which is within the photo by default, to the outside. In most cases about the sizes of your edges.

After you have saved your new style, you can combine them with others, e.g. with a cast shadow.
